The most studied approach is time-restricted eating, where all calories are consumed within an 8 to 10 hour window. This is generally safe for healthy adults but should be approached with medical guidance for those with existing health conditions. Fasting is not appropriate during pregnancy, for those with eating disorders, or for people taking medications that require food.
